Weather is a bit shitty for the past few days.
It started to chill a bit, there are strong
winds and heavy rain.

Yes. The weather was not very good a couple of days ago to where I was in Bosnia Herzegovina. Just the last 2 days the sun has come back out and the forecast is good. I hope it stays like that.
I guess I might be in Greece in about 10 days or so. I am planning to do a mountainous route on a rough road (but very beautiful) in Albania, passing into FYROM at Lake Ohrid before returning to the Albanian coast, possibly meeting up with a frenchman I met in Dubrovnik. Not sure yet, the plans are changing constantly. You can see where I am on my blog.. :-) (Assuming I can find internet to write it..)
The question was: where did we want to cycle in the nice weather after today? Along straight busy roads in Greece, or on the narrow, mountainous Bulgarian roads. An easy decision. We left the coast, and left the noise, hectic and traffic stress. The scenery, villages and people changed. We saw more mosques, and it became more rural, and much more mountainous. Granted, we were bathed in cloud, and rained on. And it was steep. But we breathed a sigh of relief. It was not just going from A to B. It was the journey again.
Ο φίλος μας έμεινε στην Ελλάδα 7 μέρες, 10-16 Νοεμβρίου. Πέρασε από την Έδεσσα, Θεσσαλονίκη, Ασπροβάλτα, Καβάλα, Ξάνθη. Δεν συνέχισε για Αλεξανδρούπολη. Στην τελευταία του περιγραφή από την Ελλάδα, έγραψε:
Το ερώτημα ήταν: Πού θα θέλαμε να ποδηλατήσουμε στον ωραίο καιρό μετά από σήμερα; Στους ίσιους Ελληνικούς δρόμους, γεμάτους κίνηση, ή στους στενούς ορεινούς δρόμους της Βουλγαρίας; Εύκολη απόφαση. Αφήσαμε την παραλία και αφήσαμε το θόρυβο, το πυρετώδες άγχος της κίνησης. Το τοπίο και οι άνθρωποι άλλαξαν. Είδαμε περισσότερα τζαμιά και έγινε πιο επαρχιακό και πολύ πιο ορεινό. Ομολογουμένως, ήμασταν λουσμένοι στα σύννεφα και στη βροχή. Και ήταν απότομα. Αλλά πήραμε μια ανάσα ανακούφισης. Δεν ήταν απλά να πάμε από το Α στο Β. Ήταν πάλι το ταξίδι.

Από την Ολλανδία στην Αυστραλία με το ποδήλατο. Ημέρες 43 και 44.
Μετά από ένα διάλειμμα 3 ημερών, θα ήταν καλό να πάρει πίσω στο ποδήλατο. Και τι ένα θαυμάσιο 2 ημέρες, ποδηλασία στο λοφώδες τοπίο της νότιας Βοσνίας-Ερζεγοβίνης και στη συνέχεια κατά μήκος της όμορφης ακτής στην Κροατία. Η ζωή δεν παίρνει πολύ καλύτερα από αυτό! :-)

From Holland to Australia by bike. Days 43 and 44.
After a 3 day break, it was good to get back on the bike. And what a wonderful 2 days, cycling in the hilly landscape of southern Bosnia Herzegovina and then along the beautiful coast in Croatia. Life doesn't get much better than this! :-)

Our friend went through Greece for 7 days, from Nov. 10 to Nov. 16. He visited Edessa, Thessaloniki, Asprovalta, Kavala, Xanthi.
He didn't stay through Alexandroupoli.
